Dr. A.S.Sekhon is the team leader of highly dedicated and untiring team of enthusiastic professionals. True to his reputation of “leading from front” He has committed himself to the missionary cause of spreading medical-literacy campaign of Gian Sagar Educational & Charitable Trust by starting Gian Sagar Medical College in a record time. He has a very rich and versatile experience in the field of Medical Education and Research. He is a highly respected scholar of Community Medicine and Medical Education technology. He has been a Fellow and an Honorary member of Indian Association of Preventive & Social Medicine society FIAPSM. He was elected as President Indian Association of Preventive & Social Medicine. He has been a member of Editorial Board of Journal of Community Medicine. He has been actively associated with numerous projects of Punjab government, Govt. of India and World Health Organisation. He has very rich experience as Medical Superintendent of Govt. Rajindra Hospital, Patiala. He has held the position of Joint Director, Research and Medical Education, Punjab. He has held the important position of Registrar, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot. His hard work, dedication, and, devotion to initiate and start a medical college and allied institutions in Bathinda have been a big contribution to uplifting education in Punjab. Now, He has taken up the responsibility of setting up a Centre of Excellence in Medical Education at Gian Sagar Medical College & Hospital, Ram Nagar. In a very short span of time four new institutions have been started. Thus under his dynamic leadership new mile stones have been added in the history of medical education in Punjab.
